Panchakarma
is a very important part of Ayurvedic treatments
Panchakarma treatments help in detoxification of the body and throwing
out excess of doshas.
The 5 procedures - Vaman, Virechan, Basti, Nasyam & Rakta mokshana
are studied under this course.
This course gives the basic knowledge of Ayurveda, Kayachikitsa Different
modalities of treatment, types of treatment, Importance of Panchakarma,
Poorvakarma (pre-procedures) of Panchakarma, as well as the practicals
according to the seasons and Panchakarma procedures according to the stage
of a disease (Avathika panchakarma chikitsa)

In this therapy the whole body or any specific part
is made to perspire by the application of certain medical puddings externally
in the form of boluses tied up in a muslin bag.
Two or Four masseurs apply this for about 60 to 90 minutes per day for

This treatment is for all types of rheumatism, pain in the joints, emaciation
of limbs, blood pressure, cholesterol and certain kinds of skin diseases.
Podikizhi – Here
herbal leaves & herbs or herbal powders are applied to the whole body
in boluses with hot medicated oils for 45 minutes per day for a period
of 7 to 14 days.
This treatment is for Ostheo – Arthritis, arthritis with swelling,
spondilosis, sports injuries etc.
